Fantasy football / Trade guides

Find your next trade.

Start with the lineup spot you want to improve. Then look for a manager who can fill it and needs something you can afford to give up. That is a more useful starting point than shopping your least useful player to the whole league.

Find a need you can actually improve

Look at your next starting lineup and your likely starters for the remaining season. Separate a lasting weakness from a single bye week. A short gap may be easier to cover on waivers than by trading away a player you will need later.

Choose what you can give up by looking at who replaces that player. A receiver on your bench may be expendable this week but become your best flex option when another starter is unavailable. Depth only becomes a trade asset when you can lose it without creating a bigger hole.

Look for the opposite roster problem

Suppose you have three receivers you trust but can start only two, while your second running back spot is weak. Another manager has a running back on the bench and is starting a replacement receiver. A receiver-for-running-back swap is worth examining because each incoming player might replace a weaker starter.

Now change one detail: that manager already has strong receivers. The same offer may be balanced on a calculator and still give them no reason to accept. Their roster matters as much as yours. This example is hypothetical, not a current player recommendation.

Check the whole deal before sending

Set both lineups after the trade. Include flex eligibility, league scoring, upcoming byes and injuries. Identify the player displaced by each arrival and the player promoted after each departure. If one side becomes worse, revise the offer or move on.

Then check market value and roster space. Similar values do not prove that a trade helps, but a large imbalance can explain why an offer is unlikely to land. In a package deal, the manager receiving more players may have to drop someone useful. That drop is part of the cost.

Use Fantrade to search your league

Enter your Sleeper username on Fantrade and pick a supported redraft league. The finder reads the league, compares possible offers against both starting lineups, and checks their trade values. You do not need to enter your Sleeper password.

Review the players, lineup changes and reasons on an idea before sharing it. A closest call is labeled with the check it failed; it does not mean both teams improve. If there is no useful trade, keeping your roster can be the right answer.

Agree on the offer, then enter it in Sleeper

Send gives you a link and a message to share with the other manager. Post gives you a group page where your league can vote. Neither action submits an offer in Sleeper. After you agree on the players, enter the trade in Sleeper and follow your league rules.

Fantrade currently supports redraft leagues with 6 to 16 teams. Keeper leagues use redraft values and are in beta. Dynasty, best ball and individual defensive player leagues are not supported. Projections are estimates, and the other manager still decides whether the deal works for them.
